Scientific Studies

Many studies have been carried out to assess the potential of Tai Chi as a tool in health therapy.  Some of these are listed on the left, but this list is indicative only, and is by no means exhaustive.  Care has been taken to include only scientific studies published in journals, and not reports based upon them, or any other such anecdotal evidence.  Unfortunately, not all of the papers can be viewed freely on-line, since most of the journals require the reader to either subscribe to the journal, or to purchase the article.  However, abstracts can usually be viewed, and these will provide one with the basic idea/results of the study.  Alternatively, one can contact the authors and ask them directly for an e-mailed copy of the paper - although don't necessarily expect you will be given a copy!!  If you use any of the data from these studies, please make sure you CITE THE AUTHORS in any subsequent writings (No need to cite this website!).
